Women’s History Month, Reflections from Kenya & Gifts for Mother’s Day

March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate strength, resilience, creativity, and the incredible women who shape our communities and our world.

It also feels like the perfect moment for reflection, as I’ve just returned to the UK after another inspiring trip to Kenya - my sixth visit in less than two years. Each time I visit, my love for the country and its beautiful people grows even stronger.

A Special Time in Kenya

One of the greatest highlights of every visit to Kenya is spending time with the trainees at our MasterPeace Jewellery Workshop in Machakos.

The energy, curiosity, and dedication of these young artisans never fail to inspire me. Watching them grow in confidence and skill reminds me why this work matters so much.

A heartfelt thank you also to Dee Stewart and Daniel Murrain for travelling to Kenya to share their jewellery expertise and experience with our team of emerging jewellers. Your generosity and mentorship make a lasting impact.

We look forward to welcoming many more of friends to our workshops in Kenya soon!

Celebrating the Women in Our Lives

In the spirit of Women’s History Month, we’re also celebrating the women who inspire us every day - mothers, sisters, mentors, friends, and leaders and our female miners, jewellery makers and crafts women.

Our catalogue includes many beautiful jewellery designs that make meaningful gifts for the strong, creative, and loving women who shape our lives.

A thoughtful piece of jewellery can be a powerful way to honour someone special — while also supporting artisans and helping us continue our mission to make jewellery change lives.

You can also follow our AFRIKA ROCKS collection on Instagram to stay connected with new designs, stories from the workshop, and highlights from our community.
